Description: A portrait of M. Anita Gay Hawthorne, Director of the Pan-Afrikan Student Services at Augsburg College (now Augsburg University) from 1987 - 1997. Hawthorne led the change from "Black Student Affairs" to "Pan-Afrikan Student Services," and was affectionately referred to as "mom" by students.
