The fifty-third page of a scrapbook created by Anita Gay Hawthorne in 1990 shows a photograph in the top left corner which shows a person speaking into a microphone with a caption that reads, "Mistress of Ceremony". In the middle photograph, "Namibian Singers" perform. In the bottom photograph the, "Metropolitan Male Chorus of Minnesota" performs at the Namibian Independence Celebration/Sharpeville Massacre Commemoration.
