Fun can not be defined becaUse it means different things to different people. Augsburg is aware of the wide variety of interest the student body holds and caters to these in- terests by their location. Augsburg is located in the heart of the city in the diverse Cedar Riverside neighborhood which provides a wealth of atmos- phere. activities and experiences. Show more4 Building A Brighter Future Ausgburg is breaking new ground, building a new library The new four level library is expected to be 73,000 square feet, have a compuer lab and class rooms estimated to be complete in the fall of1997. The library will serve over 2,800 students with more than 175,000 books and periodicals. over 1,000 videos, 5,000 sound recordings, 10 CD-ROM data bases and several special collec- tions. The current George Sverdrup library will be renovated to add a student lounge and additional computer facilities. The rest of the 21,000 sqare foot building will gradually be converted to classrooms and offices. The George Sverdrup library was built in 1955 to accomidate 900 students. Broadening Our Horizons also occurs through special programs offered to Augsburg College students like the Sophomore Mentor Program. the Honors Program. and various opportunities to study abroad [all covered in the 1997 Augsburgian). Oscar Wilde self described his own play as “A trivial comedy for erious people.” Wilde‘s intelligence and witt are ingenious resulting in delightful performance. Humor abounds as well as Earnests when our 1dy characters confess that they could only love someone called Lamest. This three act spectacular was marvelously performed. with a charm— tg set and beautiful costumes. It is easy to see why Ausgburg is an jeal place to study theater as it is located in the major theater city of iinneapolis. Augsburg’s Theater Arts program also provides oppor- inity for growth through course study as well as the opportunity to 'ork with professional artists.
